About us

We’re Peter and Sarah, and we run The Hamper Hideaway.

We started this because most gift hampers we’d seen were a bit disappointing. The same chocolates and biscuits you can pick up in any supermarket, just in a nicer box. We wanted to do better than that.

So we buy from small producers, mostly here in Kent. Our jams and chutneys come from a family firm in Wye that’s been making them for over 50 years. The fudge is made by hand in a kitchen in the Kent countryside, the tea comes from a family tea merchant in Pluckley, and the coffee from a Kent roaster whose blend has won a Great Taste award. Our shortbread is the one thing we go further for, it’s handmade by a family bakery in Edinburgh, because nobody does it better. It takes a lot longer to source things this way, but you can tell the difference when you open the box.

We’re a registered limited company, fully insured, and registered as a food business with our local council. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, just get in touch.
