What we collect
When you contact us: your name, company, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message.
When you order: contact and invoicing details for you and your business.
When we deliver to individual staff: their names, delivery addresses and any dietary requirements, provided by you or by them directly.
When you visit our website: basic technical information collected through cookies by our website provider.
Why we use it
To reply to enquiries and send quotes.
To fulfil orders, deliver hampers and send invoices.
To keep accounting records, as the law requires.
Dietary requirements are used only to pack the right hamper for each person. Where this could reveal health information or religious beliefs, we use it only with that person's agreement and for that purpose alone.
Who we share it with
Only the services we need to run the business: our website provider (Squarespace), email provider (IONOS), bank (Starling), and the couriers who deliver hampers, who receive only the name and address they need. We never sell your information or pass it to anyone for marketing. Some of these providers may store data outside the UK, using safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to an order: up to 12 months.
Order and invoice records: 6 years, as required for tax.
Staff delivery addresses and dietary details: deleted within 3 months of delivery.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email peter@thehamperhideaway.co.uk and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
